Welcome
Hi, I’m Estere (Esther/Estère/Эстер)! This website is an overview of what I do professionally (=in terms of my profession; how well I do it is for others to judge), as well as a personal blog

Things I do
I am affiliated and involved with various organisations, and of course do stuff in a personal capacity too. If you are interested in collaborating, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
Proteomics / bioinformatics
I got into proteomics during my PhD & postdoc, which then became my full-time job at a small biotech CRO. Recently I started as a Research Fellow in Computational Proteomics at UCL. I’m particularly interested in integrating -omics data with the biology (questions and insights), now diving deep into phopshoproteomics and multiomics analysis.
Cellular agriculture
I am a co-director of Cell Ag UK, a non-profit that aims to grow and support this emerging field here. Currently I lead our outreach and public engagement programme, as well as actively building partnerships with other organisations and companies in the space.
Interdisciplinary events
Inspired by science summer camps from my school days and cool interdisciplinary initiatives around Europe I’ve recently come across, I have started organising new format events. In 2025 I ran a science camp/school/retreat in France (happening again in 2026!), and co-organised a weekend workshop in Czechia, both around the theme of Communities (but different).
Cell biology
My PhD was on circadian rhythms (at the cellular level) and protein homeostasis, which I completed in 2022 at MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge. I’m keen on other things cell & molecular biology, and currently work with researchers in cancer, as part of Cancer Research UK City of London Centre.
Outreach and teaching
I’ve done a variety of teaching (from secondary school to undergraduate levels), mostly extracurricular, and keen on science outreach, public engagement, and widening participation in HE.
Other
In my spare (?) time I have also been volunteering with charities (mostly humanitarian/refugees), travelling, and doing other things.
