I’ve been participating and teaching at multiple science and education focused residential events over the years. In 2025 for the first time I’ve had a chance to organise and help organise something from scratch myself.

An interdisciplinary school, or retreat, or “summer camp” for adults in French Pyrennees
A week-long residential event that brings together specialists and
non-specialists across disciplines – from ecology and political science to
cryptography and social science – alongside creative workshops (theatre,
music, sketching, yoga), open discussions, and explorations of the
beautiful surroundings. The aim is to create a space where people with
different backgrounds can learn from each other, explore new areas, and
enjoy doing so – all in a cosy house in the mountains, with great food and
good company.

“My” summer camp
While at school, I was a participant in multiple science summer camps, which are a particular thing in Eastern Europe. One organisation in particular, ABFS, runs camps that I’ve been going to almost every year since I was 8 years old: first as a participant, then as a youth leader, then as a teaching assistant and teacher, now as a lead on projects and a community organiser
